PET Double-Sided Tape

Tough and difficult to tear, with slight elasticity; transparent adhesive provides stable bonding, tight wrapping and broad applications.

1. PET double-sided tape offers strong adhesion, heat and tensile resistance, low weight, corrosion resistance and an attractive finish.

PET-backed double-sided tape: good temperature and shear resistance; typical long-term temperature resistance of 100–125°C and short-term resistance of 150–200°C, with a thickness of 0.048–0.2 mm. Suitable for bonding nameplates, LCDs and decorative parts.

3. PET tape has high temperature resistance. The source describes reinforced PET surviving a 10-second dip in a 250°C solder bath with almost no deformation or discoloration, making it suitable for electronic and appliance parts requiring soldering.

4. PET double-sided tape's flexural strengthcan reach 200 MPa and its elastic modulus 4,000 MPa, with good creep and fatigue resistance and high surface strength. Its mechanical properties are close to those of thermosetting plastics.

5. Ethylene glycol used to make PET costs approximately half as much as the butanediol used for PBT. PET resin and reinforced PET are therefore comparatively economical engineering plastics, offering good value and supporting widespread use of PET double-sided tape.
